ECS July Update

Dear ECS Family,

I am happy to say we have a full faculty roster for the upcoming school year! There have been a few additional changes, we’ll be sharing a full update on our Discord (make sure you’ve joined!). We are poised to start the year with every position filled, and I would even like to look into adding a part-time band/fine arts teacher for our Grammar school. Should you happen to know someone who might be a good fit, please direct them to our Careers page.

The summer has been busy for us. Earlier this month, many of our faculty and staff attended the Memoria Press Teacher Training Conference in Louisville, KY. It was a wonderful and enriching experience as we continue to foster relationships with some of the best minds in classical Christian education. In addition to our membership in the Association of Classical Christian Schools, we’ve also been accepted as a Partner Member in the Classical Latin School Association.

Much of our building is undergoing a dramatic transformation. Over my three years as headmaster, we’ve made notable physical improvements to our facility. This continues with several renovated classrooms, a new kitchenette that will house the Eagle’s Nest Snack Shop, and officially moving our library to its larger space on the Second Floor. This will be an exciting year, with our most comfortable atmosphere in decades. We can’t wait to welcome you all for the 2024-2025 academic year!

On that note, our Back-to-School Cookout is scheduled for Friday, August 16th, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. We want this to be a time of genuine fellowship, so we will be serving grilled hotdogs. Mrs. Fitton has graciously volunteered to make cupcakes for the event (did you know our incoming 4th-grade teacher is a baker?). We can use some help with sides and drinks. We’ll send out a sign-up via Discord.

Lastly, I do need to mention we have some allergies in our school this year. In particular, we have airborne peanut and tree nut allergies. As a way to love one another (John 13:34-35), we ask that peanuts and tree nuts, or items cooked with/in them, not be sent to school. More details on this are forthcoming.

That’s all for now! Please make sure to join our Discord!

God bless,
Headmaster Batten
