It’s Almost Time to Party!

Dear Eagles,

We cannot tell you how thrilled we are to have you join us next weekend to celebrate our school’s 50th anniversary. To date, we’ve sent out almost 300 tickets for what we hope will be the largest convocation of Eagles in our school’s history. Your presence this weekend is greatly anticipated and will no doubt define this remarkable occasion.

We’ve worked hard to create an experience filled with opportunities to reconnect, reminisce, and create new memories. We want this weekend to be a tribute to the grace of God at work in our storied past and an opportunity to trust that grace to do great things in our future.

Ahead of your arrival, there are a few things you need to know…

No Ticket, No problem!

If you have not received your tickets yet or you forget to request one, we have good news. You can still come without a ticket. We would ask that you go ahead and request a ticket at Emmanueleagles.com/homecoming, so we have your contact information for future correspondence and an idea of how many to expect for planning purposes. But if you don’t have a ticket or have friends and family who want to come with you, no one will be turned away because they don’t have a ticket. One of the reasons we selected the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is so that capacity would be no problem at all.

You do not need a physical ticket for any event. Keep them as a souvenir, but please do RSVP by requesting a ticket at Emmanueleagles.com/homecoming so we can plan accordingly.

Schedule of Events

We wanted to make sure that there were ample opportunities for alumni to connect throughout the weekend. Please feel free to attend as many events as you like. There are no special tickets needed. All alumni, former and current students and staff, and supporters are welcome to attend all events. The schedule of events is listed below…

Friday, July 28th from 6p-9p at The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, WV.

The Alumni Games at The Bridge

Back by popular demand, the alumni games will feature friendly intramural competition between decades in both basketball and volleyball. Special guest Bob Holmes will also join us. Bob is a one-man, record-setting volleyball team that has beaten the Redskins, Orioles, USA Volleyball, the Buffalo Bills, and more! Join us as a spectator or a player and help us BEAT BOB at the end of the evening! Find out more about Bob Holmes at BeatBob.com

Saturday, July 29th from 10a-12p at Emmanuel Christian School in Clarksburg, WV.

Back to School Tour at Emmanuel

Join us for a walk-through of the school building with special guests from each decade. Reminisce with former classmates and teachers and see some of the current work happening at the school.

We will dedicate our newly restored flagpole as part of our back-to-school tour. Mr. Burcham’s Civics Class undertook this project, and the flagpole will be dedicated to our alumni who have served in the military or as first responders. The Harrison County VFW Honor Guard will conduct the flag ceremony.

Make plans to attend the ECS Homecoming Tailgate at Jacksons Square- rain or shine. Jacksons Square is a beautiful, sheltered parking pavilion in downtown Clarksburg just a block from the Robinson Grand. From 1-3 pm, we’ll gather there to enjoy good company and great food. There will also be an assortment of trunk displays featuring some of the current and past happenings of the school. We hope to create a unique, immersive experience for our current families, alumni, and community to walk through and see God’s grace at work in our school over the past 50 years.

Map & Directions

We’ve tried to keep everything as centrally located as possible. Most of the events will take place in downtown Clarksburg within walking distance from each other. The only exception is the Back-to-School event which will be held at the school building in Northview. Below is a map of downtown showing where most of the festivities will occur.

Accomodations

There are no hotels in downtown Clarksburg. Most hotels are located in the White Oaks area of Jerry Dove Drive, just off I79. Our school partnered with Hawthorn Suites in this area, and they had a block of rooms reserved for us at a special rate of $119/night.
