Weekly Update - December 1st, 2023
Dear ECS Family,
Tonight is the Clarksburg WinterFest Parade, it begins at 6:00 PM. For those participating in our float, we are number 35 in the lineup, and will begin lining up on 6th Street by the US District Court Building. You should plan to arrive for the linup around 5:10 PM.
Our Christmas Program will be Friday, December 15th, at 6:00 PM at Southridge Church in Fairmont. Students should arrive by 5:15 PM. Students should wear their “Sunday Best,” and acceptable colors include gray, black, white, and red (it is, after all, Christmas). Boys in 5th grade and up should plan to wear a tie. There is no admission fee, however we will take an offering to help cover our teacher Christmas bonuses.
As we’ve grown, and we have more events happening after school (study hall, tutoring, athletics etc.), I want to clarify how we bill afterschool care. We do not bill students who are in a scheduled extracurricular or academic activity as long as they are in that activity. However, if that activity ends and the student reports to afterschool care, we will bill that. For example, if a student reports to afterschool care at 4:00 PM, and is picked up at 4:30 PM, that will be billed.
We are off for Christmas break starting Friday, December 22nd through Tuesday, January 2nd. Classes will resume after break on Wednesday, January the 3rd. The second quarter will end on Thursday, January the 11th.
