Weekly Update 12/16/23
Dear ECS Family,
This was a busy and rewarding week at ECS. Many thanks to everyone who came out to our Cookin’ Up Christmas program last night. I want to especially thank Mrs. Whiston for her work in putting it all together, the Guildmasters and student guild leadership for their songs and Guild commercials, Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Kelli for opening our program, and South Ridge Church for allowing us to use their facility and being incredibly gracious hosts. Mr. Rohrbacher arranged the venue, so my thanks to him as well. Finally, I was overwhelmed by the generosity demonstrated in our love offering (and thanks to the Stewards of Games and their designees for helping collect the offering). We are so deeply appreciative of the opportunity to partner with you in the task of Christian education, and profoundly thankful for your support that so often goes above and beyond.
Next week is Christmas Spirit Week, and students have the option to dress as follows:
Monday - Snowball Day: Wear white, sparkles optional (boys, keep it manly);
Tuesday - Ugly Sweater Day: Ugly sweater or Christmas shirt, plain red/green is OK too;
Wednesday - Christmas Character Day: Dress as a Christmas character, real or fictional;
Thursday - Head to Toe Day: Deck your halls with anything from hats to shoes and socks, and everything in between.
Many classes will have some version of a Christmas party during the next week, consult with teachers for the dates and how that will work out within their class.
Finally, Thursday, December 21st, is our last day of school before Christmas break. We will be out starting Friday, December 22nd, and return to school on Wednesday, January 3rd.
God bless,
Headmaster Batten
